What age is a cabin bed suitable for?

The recommended minimum age is six for any raised bed, including cabin storage beds. These beds aren't just necessarily for kids or small children, either - the recommended age range is up to and including teenagers.

Are cabin beds suitable for toddlers?

For little legs, we recommend looking for a bed close to the ground, with safety bars and a stool or ladder that won’t be out of reach for your tot. If you’re worried about the suitability of beds such as mid sleepers, you can view our toddler beds, too!

How much weight can a cabin bed take?

The weight limit for cabin storage beds will vary based on the size and shape of the bed; the manufacturer will list the specific weight limit. Due to their sturdy construction, plenty of children will have no issues using them. They need to be made of strong stuff to sufficiently support children as they grow older and into their teenage years.

How high are your cabin beds?

What size mattress fits on a cabin bed?

Cabin bed materials options

Most cabin storage beds are made from solid wood or high-quality wood composites like MDF. Solid wood beds have a robust, classic feel, while modern composites are strong, durable, and usually finished with a smooth, easy-to-clean surface. These beds are created with sturdy construction in mind, so they're built to last.

Is a cabin bed the same as a mid sleeper bed?

Cabin beds are a category of beds with spaces built underneath them. A mid sleeper bed is a type of cabin bed - it's a bed that's raised to a medium height. So, all mid sleepers are kids’ cabin beds, but not all cabin beds for kids are mid sleepers. As another option, we also provide high-sleeper beds, which can be ideal for older kids and teenagers.

Are cabin beds easy to assemble?

If you've tackled flat-pack furniture before, you'll be on familiar ground. All cabin beds, including single cabin beds, will arrive with a bed assembly guide and all the materials you need to construct them. However, it is a two-person job and can take several hours, so we recommend finding a free afternoon to build it.
