• What is a dressing table for?

A dressing table is usually a space to sit and get ready or wipe away the day before bed. With built-in storage compartments, you can hide away bits and pieces like a hairbrush, cosmetics, and any day-to-day essentials.

You can also use a dressing table as a desk for your desktop or laptop - perfect for working from home!

• How do you organise a dressing table?

If your dressing table has storage, it’s good to separate your essentials by how you use them i.e. face, hair, and skin. Plus, it’s good to keep those smaller bits and pieces safely inside containers. Because when you’re getting ready before work, you won’t want to scrabble around in search of that last hair clip…

It’s also a good idea to use desk organisers to store any jewellery and makeup. You can pop these on top of the dresser to keep the surface nice and tidy.

• How do I find a chair to match my dressing table?

Lots of our dressing tables are already complete with a matching chair. However, if you’re just after a seat for your new dressing table, a stylish stool or an accent chair is perfect.

• How do I attach a mirror to a dressing table?

Lots of our dressing tables already have a mirror. For example, our Vox dressing tables have a hidden mirror underneath the tabletop. So when you’re ready to get beautiful, simply flip the lid up to see your reflection - and push it back down to save space once you’re all ready.

If your dressing table doesn’t already have a mirror, it makes sense to get a mirror on its own stand. This means you won’t need to hold your mirror as you get ready or balance it against anything to stand upright. To go the extra mile, you could use wood adhesive or ‘No More Nails’ to permanently attach your mirror to the dresser.

• Where should I put my dressing table?

Dressing tables are ideal bedroom furniture. It’s a good idea to position your dressing table next to your bed (and on your side of the bed!), so you have easy access in the morning.

Plus, it’s worth considering where the light shines in your room. If you’d like some natural light while you get ready, think about positioning your dressing table opposite the window.
