Here are a few questions that our garden gurus often receive about the art of log chopping, storing, stacking and seasoning. Something that is taken very seriously in Scandinavia (and should be here too!).

1. Where is the best location for a log store?

Firewood will dry best in a large, airy location and if it can get a bit of sunshine too that would be perfect. Also consider the distance from where your logs will be delivered to your log store or shed - you'll have a few trips back and forth putting them away!

2. How do you stack logs?

This may seem like a silly question - but there is a knack to stacking logs in a log store for optimum air circulation... there are even books dedicated to the art of log stacking! Ideally wooden logs need to be stacked in rows with gaps in between, as they dry from the ends inwards.

3. What size is a log store?

Log stores come in lots of different sizes perfect for small spaces or larger outdoor areas, so depending on your available space and storage requirements it's best to check the individual measurements on each product.
