Our suggestions
Classic bunk beds
Two beds in the footprint of one, in a wide choice of finishes.
Triple bunk beds
Three sleeping spaces in one frame, often with a staircase or storage.
Trundle beds and bunks with trundles
A pull-out bed under the main bed keeps a second sleeper close to the floor.
Bunk beds with storage
Drawers, shelves or step storage, so two children still have space for their things.
Staircase bunk beds
Flat treads and a handrail make climbing easier, and the steps often hide drawers.
L-shaped bunk beds
Beds at right angles, often with a desk or storage tucked into the corner.
Low and shorty bunk beds
Less height and length for small rooms and lower ceilings.
Detachable bunk beds
Bunks that split into two single beds, so they can be used as singles now or later.
Themed bunk beds
Playful designs that make a shared room an adventure.
Before you choose a bunk bed
- Measure the ceiling height: whoever sleeps on top should be able to sit up comfortably.
- Use mattresses no deeper than the maximum depth given for the bed, so the guard rail works as intended.
- The top bunk isn't suitable for children under six (BS EN 747).
- Leave clear floor space at the bottom of the ladder or stairs.
