But they’re special in other ways too. Wooden beds may be a centuries-long staple of home décor, yet we bet you have a few questions when making this all-important purchase:

1. Are the beds delivered fully assembled?

Our wooden beds do require some assembly, however, you can opt for our Cuckooland handymen to put your bed together for a fee. Simply click the installation option when purchasing your dream bed. There’s no need for D.I.Y; just clear the route to your bed’s new resting spot, and show our delivery crew the way!

2. Does the wood need treating?

Our beds arrive pre-finished to ensure they are as low maintenance as possible. As such, you won’t need to treat the bed when it arrives; just polish from time to time to keep it in peak condition. Long-term, you may want to consider using an oil or wax to recondition the wood, however, this isn’t essential.

3. What mattress should I buy for a slatted bed?

All of Cuckooland’s wooden beds have slatted bases, which suit either a memory foam or pocket sprung mattress. This is due to their superior ability to keep their shape over the years, offering a sturdy, breathable base for sleep.
