Back in 2014 two brothers were travelling around France and spotted a tent on top of a car.  Pretty strange at the time, but they were captivated and that is how their dream of bringing the concept of an easy to use, affordable touring solution using your existing vehicle to the masses.  The TentBox story began the following year back in their garage at home in Hampshire, first UK roof tent brand was born.  It became clear what a success this was going to be, so they soon moved to a dedicated workshop and warehouse where, using top-notch materials, the team continually tested, upgraded and improved their inventions to produce the fantastic brand that is TentBox today.

As you would expect the canvas fabrics used are fully waterproof and UV resistant, the zips and seams are also waterproof.  Premium quality stainless steel and aluminium are used for the frames and the years of testing different gas strut mechanisms have paid off – they have nailed it.  With a growing rang of accessories available the TentBox brand is continually evolving to bring useful additions such as awnings, mattress toppers for extra comfort, security components and even furniture.  You can also buy extra roof bars to put on top of the box so you can sling the surfboards or kayaks on top for the ultimate adventure.  Just be sure to check the weight load of your car roof before throwing the kitchen sink up there too!  Remember that the listed vehicle load is a dynamic load (when you are driving), the static load of any vehicle is 5 x that of the dynamic load so no need to worry about your own weight in the calculations.  Phew!
