SS17 Trends

Spring and summer is always an exciting time for the world of interior design. It’s at this point in the calendar year when new trends sweep the nation and settle in for the long haul - but what sort of styles have been making an appearance in 2017?

Well, that’s exactly what this page is here for. At Cuckooland, we like to remain very much ahead of the curve when it comes to home décor trends, and listed below (in their own convenient little sections, might we add) are all the chic styles populating homes across the country right now.

SS17 Trend FAQs

Trends always inspire questions, so we’ve gone to the trouble of answering all the big queries below. Take a look and see…

  1. What are the biggest interior design trends of SS17?

  2. The interior design world has seen the emergence of several new styles in the run-up to spring and summer, but a few trends have really taken hold. The overarching theme appears to be a “back to basics” feel – a look that exudes effortless elegance. Greenery is one example – offering homeowners the chance to create a soothing, relaxing space that offers sweet relief from digital surroundings. The Scandi living minimalist trend Lagom has also grabbed a foothold in the market, whilst vibrant, natural coastal furniture has set up shop in homes across the country. Mixed materials are also proving popular – products noticeably cobbled together from different resources for a result that’s homemade-meets-luxury.

  3. What products are in style in spring and summer?

  4. Trends come and go, of course, but lighter, breezier, more colourful products always tend to sell well during the summertime. Greenery (in the modern sense of the phrase) has only recently become something widespread, but planters and hanging plants are always brought back indoors during the sunnier months. Outdoor furniture also tends to fly off the racks, along with cookware, seaside-style products, parasols, and patterned pieces.

  5. What Interior colours work best for SS17?

  6. As with many Spring/Summer collections, 2017 has embraced the colours found in nature at this wonderful time of year. Interior designers have stood firm on SS colours such as Niagara, a class denim like blue which has all the flavours of a relaxed, easy environment. Primrose yellow is a favourite this year with it's all round enthusiasm and general good vibes. Pale Dogwood brings those ever popular pink tones into modern focus and of course, greenery has made a welcome comeback this year too.!

  7. How can I integrate interior design trends in my home?

  8. Regardless of the amount of space you have to play with, you should have no trouble integrating a particular SS17 trend into your household. A variety of furniture pieces spread out across the room will cement the style, but you may need a lick of paint here and there to avoid any jarring aesthetic clashes. For example, Lagom is a trend focused on “just enough”, so placing Lagom furniture in a busy, bright room won’t work. Take time to consider how much you’ll need to tweak before you buy into a trend.

Kids Teepee Cabin Bed

Fantastic bed! My daughter loves this as do I, it is really well made and heavy and was relatively easy to assemble. It gives my daughters room a really magical feel, would definitely recommend.

Uuni 3 Wood-Fired Pizza Oven

So easy to use and produces simply excellent pizzas. Wood fire oven pizzas taste so much better and in the UUNI they cook very quickly indeed, (you'll need to turn them every thirty seconds or so for the perfect pizza). Well made product and only took fifteen minutes to assemble - even the correct tools were provided so no digging around in my toolbox.

The Garden Igloo 360 Dome

I love our igloo. Not too hard to put up, it's lovely to sit inside as the nights are drawing in. It's like a conservatory. Spacious too. We've added some fairy lights and candles. There is a slight smell of pvc but the fragranced candles disguise it. Looking forward to using it in the summer too and will buy the canvas cover. I may even put some flooring down to make it even cosier!

Kubu Rattan Hanging Lamp

Amazing first class customer experience!! Very helpful and honest staff. I will look here again!!
