Kids Storage Ideas to Get Christmas Ready

You might have noticed mince pies and mulled wine already popping up in the supermarket! The holidays are coming… whether you’re ready or not!

The kids may have started writing their Christmas wishlists, and if Santa makes good on his promise… you’ll either have to get a self-storage unit or move into a bigger house! With the right furniture, these extreme measures can be avoided!

Don’t leave it until after the big day to de-clutter the kid’s rooms. If you get a jumpstart, Christmas will (hopefully) be stress-free – what a treat! It’s time for a Christmas clear-out, Cuckooland style.

From sorting through old stuff and donating outgrown toys, to rearranging their bedroom layout and investing in smart storage solutions… when it gets to December 24th, you’ll be ready to face the festive season. We think that merits a mince pie… or 12!

1. Customisable Storage

Vox Nest Kids Cabin Bed in Larch Effect & Graphite

On the first day of Christmas… We give you the Vox Nest Kids Cabin Bed! Completely customisable, the brilliant loft bed frame can be adapted to suit any space.

Choose the storage you think your youngster will need – from bookcases to pull-out wardrobes, each modular addition helps keep things organised! All fitting neatly below or to the sides of the high sleeper, the clever space-saving design makes good use of the area their bed needs to take up.

Arrange existing toys, clothes, books and ‘can’t-be-without’ items in each section and create a system that makes sense. Then when St. Nick pays his yearly visit, there will be space to spare for all of their new favourites! There is even a slot for that new bike they begged for!

2. Space-saving Storage for Siblings

If you’re short on space the Leo L Shaped 2 in 1 Combination Bunk Bed has you covered this Christmas! Not your standard bunk bed design, this wooden wonder has storage on every side and can be adapted to suit the shape of the kid’s bedroom.

Designed with a movable bottom bunk, choose to create a stacked or L-shaped bunk bed to suit the space it fits into. The bunks can even be separated out if they end up having their own room, saving on furniture purchases later on! That’s a gift in itself!

Including trundle drawers, shelves, a closed cupboard, a hanging rail and a shoe cubby – this bunk bed puts an end to festive sibling squabbles! Divide the sections between them, to keep things fair, and they’ll each have a spot to store old and new toys.

3. Storage for Stocking-fillers

Vox Tuli Bookcase & Toy Storage

A space for those incoming stocking-fillers; kids (and parents) love the Vox Tuli Bookcase & Toy Storage!

Available in (snowflake) white or (pine tree) pastel green, and quick and easy to assemble before the big day; sort their new toys and books into the 4 shelved compartments and use the top to display their favourite keep-sakes.

Not just for their bedroom, it wouldn’t look out of place in the living room or playroom (if they’re lucky enough to have one), as it fits around existing furniture.

Designed at the perfect height for kiddies of all ages and arriving with hanging labels, they’ll know where to go without rummaging and tiptoeing.

Part of the Tuli collection from Vox – the Vox Tuli Kids Stackable Stools and Desks are the perfect spot to write their wish lists, but they also double up as extra storage!

Simply stack them on top of one another and they become booksh-ELVES… not sorry! Create a multi-functional bookcase for all of their favourite stories or a craft corner for pens and art materials. Instead of taking up space in their bedroom and playroom, this space-saving set can be moved to one side when not in use!

4. Hidden Wardrobes for Their New Wardrobe

Vox Spot High Sleeper Storage Kids Bed in Acacia & White

What do kids get gifted every Christmas, without fail… clothes! Sometimes they grumble and groan about it, but you just know that they’ll be getting a knitted jumper, new jammies, dressing gown, and socks! We should rename it – The Season of Socks!

If your kids are lucky enough to have oodles of clothing storage already, then you might want to read on, but for those that don’t have built-in wardrobes – the Vox Spot High Sleeper Storage Kids Bed keeps clothes and shoes neatly hidden out of sight.

Including 4 drawers, shelves upon shelves, a walk-in wardrobe and the option of two pull-out clothes rails – there is more than enough room for their Christmas sock collection! Add your own LED lighting and they might just find a matching pair!

5. Built-in Storage for Big Kids!

Ava High Sleeper Bed with Desk and Wardrobe

Just because your tween or teen has joined the non-believer arena, doesn’t mean they won’t be receiving gifts from family and friends this December 25th! Like all of us, they’ll need to make space for all of their new presents… There’s no getting out of a bedroom clear-out!

Thankfully the Ava High Sleeper Bed with Desk and Wardrobe has shelves galore, ready for all of their essentials and new additions. Have a de-clutter and donate underused clothes, books and bric-a-brac to a good cause or hand them down to an extended family member and save on buying them new gifts. Give them a new home instead of heading straight to the bin!

Once teens have finally decided on their ‘keep’ pile, arrange it all below the Ava High Sleeper Bed and they’ll still have space for more… whether that’s from Santa or not!

6. Modular and Multi-Functional

Vox Stige Modular Range

If you’re on a mission to get the kid’s rooms ready before December, the Stige range from Vox is Kris Kringle-approved!

Have a re-jig of their existing bedroom furniture, measure the space and see which Stige pieces you can slot in. From bookcases to cupboards, and cabinets to storage benches – pick out the pieces you think your kids will need most. You’ll be ready for whatever the wrapping paper reveals!

The wall shelves are a great addition to the range. Utilising all of the wall space that would otherwise go to waste, stash books, DVDs, games and toys out of the way and off the floor.

Available in a selection of Scandi-inspired colours, the Stige modular designs all fit together seamlessly, so even with limited space, you can create a storage wall!

7. The Perfect Pre-Christmas Present

Kids Avenue Midi Playhouse with Desk & Drawers

The gift of all gifts – a brand new kid’s bed! Two Turtle Doves with one stone; if you surprise your little ones with the Kids Avenue Midi Playhouse with Desk & Drawers slightly early, they’ll have storage space for all the extra presents that come their way!

The chest of drawers, storage boxes, pull-out desk and extra space behind the bed are ready for everything old and new!

So, they might be getting their main present a bit earlier than December 25th, but your kiddies will be so thrilled by their new playhouse-turned-bed that they won’t know the difference! And you won’t have to assemble a new bed on Christmas day… PHEW!

Maxxi Cabin Bed with Slide

Another incredible pre-Christmas surprise, with storage – the Maxxi Cabin Bed with Slide! Featuring a bookcase, under bed space and movable toy boxes – there shouldn’t be any trip hazards when Santa pays a visit.

Assemble the bed in the lead-up to the festivities, and on Christmas Eve they can get tucked up in their new bed, with their stockings hanging on the footboard! And then when ‘Father Christmas’ arrives, the empty toy boxes can be filled to the brim! That’s if they’re sleeping and not sliding!
