How to measure for a high sleeper or bunk bed
Raised beds use your room's height, so measuring up and down matters as much as measuring the floor.
What you'll need
A tape measure, a notepad and ten minutes.
Check before you order
- The bed's overall height plus the mattress, compared with your ceiling height.
- Sitting room on the top deck: an adult or child should be able to sit up comfortably.
- Light fittings, sloping ceilings, windows and radiators near the bed.
- Space to climb the ladder or stairs, and for any desk chair underneath.
- Delivery access: stairs and doorways for the boxed parts.
