I’m not one for name dropping… however I’m not going to hold back in saying that there are a few celebrities whose children drift off into the land of dreams in a Cuckooland bed. It fills me with a great sense of satisfaction and pride knowing that in their search for the ultimate kid’s bed, they found what they were looking for among the carefully selected beds I have come to know, love and cherry pick (those of you who are old enough to remember Red Dwarf, may refer to this as “smug mode”!). It’s one thing for me to love the beds that feature on the pages of Cuckooland’s coolest kid’s beds, but when someone whom I consider to exist in the realms of stardom loves one enough to actually let their child sleep in it… well that’s kind of cool… smug mode over!
Fame aside, when you’re a parent, buying a new bed for your child should be a super fun experience. I love helping customers from every walk of life with this event, from discussing the various bed options, deciding colour schemes and design, considering the pros and cons and lastly deciding upon the final choice… sometimes this process can take weeks, even months! However, what gives me the biggest smile of all is when I see the finished result, the new bed in situ, standing proud in its new surroundings, perfectly framed by the finishing touches – it’s then that the bed truly comes alive.

It never ceases to amaze me how creative people can be with interior design and I have to say I was bowled over by how the Mathy By Bols Caravan Bed took on a whole new persona in the home of award winning blogger @ormistonhousedesign. Beautifully pitched up in a whimsical bedroom, the baby pink colour chosen for this themed kid’s bed is just perfect in the fairytale setting.

I’m not surprised that Cuckooland’s range of children’s metal beds have been such a hit. Firstly they offer amazing value, secondly they’re available in a choice of gorgeous colours and thirdly their understated design is perfect for a kid’s bedroom.

@suzi_saunders cleverly converted the day bed (pictured above) into the Oliver Furniture Wood Bunk Bed (pictured below), simply by adding the conversion kit! Extending the life of this gorgeous furniture and creating a space her kids can share, Oliver Furniture help achieve amazing ideas just like this one.

Give your munchkin a taste of their own home with a kid’s house bed! A hugely popular choice, these fun children’s beds can be styled in so many ways. I love the simple styling of the Pino House Cabin Bed, seen here by @thisismothership in her daughter’s bedroom, with a statement bed it’s best to let the bed do the talking! (I’ll be quiet now!).

I think the closest I’ve come to feeling famous is walking down my street with Barkley – of course it’s not me that everyone wants to stop and talk to, it’s my decidedly gorgeous and soppy dog – deep sigh! I think I’ll just stick to working hard behind the scenes, sourcing amazing kid’s beds that hopefully everyone will love as much as I do!
