Cosy up this autumn

Summer is finally kicking off, and while some of us are ready to soak up the sunshine with an Aperol Spritz in hand, we here at Cuckooland are already getting excited for the cosy comforts of autumn! There is absolutely nothing better than getting wrapped up and hunkering down when the cold weather hits, so we’ve gathered a selection of our favourite home comforts to get you inspired for A/W22.

Soft monochromes

Black and white will always be a classic pairing, but monochromatic interiors can be a bold look for some. One way to dial it down to create a cosy atmosphere this autumn is to opt for softer shades of grey and charcoal that, when paired with white, will create a delicate yet chic look for your space. If you prefer a more Japandi-inspired look, these pieces will pair beautifully with elements of light wood and rattan to add a little extra warmth to your colour scheme.

Earthy hues are here to stay

If you’re looking to inject more colour into your home, opt for autumnal shades of olive and clay to create a tranquil haven. These earthy, comforting hues envelop you as soon as you walk through the door and work to ground your space during the colder months ahead. To take this nature-inspired style a little further, be sure to decorate with your favourite plants (real or fake – we won’t judge) throughout your space.

Ambient lighting is an absolute must-have during the A/W season! Whether you’re decorating with a few new statement fixtures or just looking to enjoy the flickering flames of your fireplace, these additions are sure to infuse your space with that “hygge” feeling we all crave when the leaves begin to change.

One of the best ways to create a cosy atmosphere when the temperature drops is with the portable fireplaces by Danish manufacturer, Le Feu. Keeping your home snug and stylish all year round, this fireplace is made from recycled cast iron, powered by bioethanol fuel and emits no smoke, making it a fantastic choice for the environmentally conscious.
