Kitchen Accessories

Often the hub of a home, kitchens fulfil many roles; a place to prepare meals (and of course don the marigolds), a place to dine, a place that unwittingly gathers all the belongings a busy family could possibly own, a place to share a cup tea with your “bestie”... and of course the best house parties always end up in the kitchen (we have some super bar stools and bar tables to help you prop up the bar... the breakfast bar that is!).

How do you go about accessorising a kitchen so it's practical, functional and stylish? That is the conundrum when it comes to dressing this multi functional room, after all, you don’t want all your efforts to be a flash in the pan! First, identify the space, is it purely a mecca for hungry souls to prepare and eat food, is it open plan with other living areas or can you barely swing a cat in there (not that we would wish you to try, of course!). How your kitchen space is used will ultimately determine the variety of accessories you chose to buy. If your kitchen incorporates a dining area, you may wish to coordinate your kitchen accessories with your dining chairs or pop down an easy to clean vinyl rug to differentiate the areas. Of course, one thing any kitchen cannot be without is the tea and coffee caddy! We have some gorgeous designs from Orla Kiely that are guaranteed to brighten your morning!

Kitchen Accessories FAQ’s

1. What colour scheme should I use with my Kitchen Accessories?

There is no general rule of thumb here. With accessories, you could decide to opt for an accent colour, one that compliments the colour of your kitchen walls or units. Accessories can be updated far quicker and easier than replacing your entire kitchen, or having the disruption of painting and decorating, so you can experiment a little and perhaps introduce colours that are a little more daring!

2. Can Kitchen Accessories help to organise my kitchen?

They sure can! From counter top canisters to compost bins, egg runs to cookery book holders, we have everything you need to get your kitchen functioning like a well oiled machine. If you’re seriously on the hunt for storage solutions take a peek at our kitchen shelving & storage – you might just find the perfect home for your new herb jars!

3. Do Kitchen Accessories make a good gift?

We sure think so! It’s important to consider who the gift is intended for. It may not be appropriate (or well received) to buy a kitchen gift for someone who finds no enjoyment in culinary creations. However, if you happen to know a budding baker, a pizza enthusiast, or an up-and-coming master chef, a kitchen accessory or pizza oven would make an egg-cellent gift! Just one rule: no kitchen gifts for Valentine’s Day – that’s strictly off limits!
