Shut those middling storage expectations away… we’re pretty confident we can wow you with our handpicked cabinets collection. But before you buy, have a quick read of our FAQs to help you get the most out of every piece:

1. How much room do I need for a cabinet?

The dimensions vary through our range. Generally, smaller cupboard models will stand 75-80cm or so off the ground, whilst the larger ones climb over 200cm. Most room sizes will accommodate them, but be careful (and check first) when using cabinets for attic interiors, or any with sloped ceilings. We also suggest leaving a minimum of 30cm’s space on either side, in case you want to move around it or reposition.

2. Why are many of your bookshelves and cabinets flat-packed?

It’s mainly to eliminate damage in transit, ease of assembly and it helps to bring the delivery costs down too. Also some cabinets, for example, have sliding doors or thin metal frames for the storage components: better care is taken when the parts arrive in a bundle, ready to be constructed. Others, like glass-door display cabinets for home decoration, will turn up at your door as you see them on our product pages. Either way, the delivery status is noted on every page.

3. Where does your wood come from?

Cuckooland is dedicated to sustainable wood production. Our favourite brands like Woood and BePureHome, are with us on that mission, carrying the FSC’s (Forestry Stewardship Council) badge of honour. Additionally, the vast majority of wood such as oak and birch, come from woodland in the Scandinavian or Germanic regions, meaning you’re getting materials direct from Northern Europe.

4. Can I adjust the size and positioning of my units?

In some cases, you can! A few of our items have customisable functionality and include detailed instructions on how to add or subtract parts of the design such as the doors and shelves of the cabinet. These are usually made of successive shelving layers or don’t have any backing to the compartments, so you can pair them up seamlessly. It’s also worth mentioning that a handful of low cabinets can be used with or without their standing legs if you prefer them to be sitting on another furnishing piece.
