Creating the Ultimate World Cup BBQ
Well its here, like it or loath it the world cup has began and mass hysteria for all things football are in full swing – England are certainly giving us hope this year, which is the perfect excuse for a party. Everywhere you look you are likely to see flags, banners, advertising and merchandise related in some way to the world cup. But lets forget all about the tee-shirts and hats and focus on what the World cup really means, bringing a nation together to support our boys through the world’s biggest sporting event and what better way to do this then with a good old BBQ. Yes, along with our patriotic values and football sing-a-longs , we Brits love nothing better then getting together with family and friends for a BBQ. So here at Cuckooland we have created a guide to the Ultimate World Cup BBQ.
The best way to cater a World Cup BBQ is to ‘theme’ your food around the team playing during the party. So if you are holding a world cup party and Brazil are playing, how about some very juicy Picanha steaks, a succulent cut of rump beef which is very popular in Brazil. There are a whole host of international BBQ recipes available here. The recipe for homemade guacamole looks absolutely delicious. Get friends involved by having them bring a salad or side dish from different nationalities, and don’t forget your Lotus Grill to help cook the perfect steak.
When it comes to screen size, the bigger the better! For the ultimate World Cup BBQ why not hire an inflatable screen and projector from http://skylightcinema.co.uk/. This inflatable features a whooping 8m x 4m I Screen and everything you need to show the greatest game on earth. Thankfully for us Brits the matches are broadcast in the evening which means the outdoor screen will show the best it has to offer with reduced daylight.
Of course the drink of choice for most BBQ’s is an ice cold beer or chilled glass of wine but its the world cup, so lets get a bit crazy with our drinks. The drink of choice in Russia is a cool, clear vodka served in a beautiful crystal glass. However, a cold pint of lager is really more our thing. Thanks to Victor’s Drinks, not only can you enjoy a pint of the good stuff, you can actually make your own!
What could be more perfect for celebrating this amazing World Cup than a pint of your own creation to be enjoyed with a delicious BBQ?
Golden rule of seating, ensure that opposing teams supporters sit on opposite sides of the pitch, I mean garden. Apart from that, there are no rules, we recommend a fun and informal seating arrangement, with seat, cushions and make-shift seating dotted around. The best thing about a BBQ in the garden is no one really minds sitting on the grass, so if you run out of seats why not put down picnic blankets and create some cosy corners, or if you feel like really treating your guests roll out the Outdoor Rug to provide them with something extra comfortable to sit on.
Lets be honest, you could go absolutely nuts with the decorations, but a few staple pieces are require such as mini flags, which can be placed in the centre of tables as a display or handed out to guests as they arrive. Why not combine fun with functional when it comes to decorations and opt for some outdoor lighting. We have a fab range which is sure to keep the party atmosphere going well into the night.
Here at Cuckooland we have a wide range of BBQ’s, outdoor furniture and party essentials for all your World Cup Party needs. We would love to know what a really good World Cup BBQ is to you, so why not leave a comment with your recommendations for a party to celebrate the beautiful game.
