Never ones to pass up an opportunity to discover the latest interior trends, we donned our shopaholic hats, packed our tiniest carry-ons, and followed the top designers, trend hunters and exhibitors in the world to Paris. Read on for a summary of what we found, in our Maison et Objet SS18 Trend Report – and prepare to experience some serious interior lust!
#1 Indigo
Navy blue was one of the stand-out colours of the show, highlighting the recent shift from all things white and pale grey, to dark, moody neutrals that ooze glamour. This timeless colour works well with gold, as well as a wide variety of other colours, from mustard, to emerald and blush pink.

#2 Velvet Romance
Queen of the comebacks, velvet, dominated the show in blush coloured chairs and romantic soft furnishings, showing that this material-of-the-moment is going nowhere. Zuiver and HKliving were just two designers who revealed a selection of armchairs, sofas and stools in this sumptuous finish.

#3 Art Deco
Velvet and glamour go hand-in-hand with our next trend – Art Deco. Everywhere we looked, there were Great Gatsby-style details, including ornate curved chair backs and geometric patterns, as well as lots of black and gold. This is the trend for those who like to make a statement.

#4 Moroccan Tiles
Geometric patterns could also be observed in the abundance of Moroccan tiles at the show. From floors and walls, to placemats and coasters, colourful and monochrome patterns featured in product showcases and kitchen / dining room settings. This looks set to be a big trend for Spring/Summer 2018.
