Meet the Cuckooland Team: Part 3…
Beth, Damian and April

It’s that time again, when we pluck 3 more unlucky employees from their desks to ask them some mildly cringe-worthy questions for our Meet the Team series. Joining us today are Beth, Damian and April. Welcome Cuckoolanders! Let’s get started. First up is our favourite animal lover and resident vegan, Beth!

BETH BENDALL, Customer Service

Hi Beth! So, tell us, what’s your favourite Cuckooland product, and why?
BB:
The Weathervane in Staffordshire Terrier design, because my rescue dog is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and she’s my number 1 little furry child!

Well, that’s adorable! And may we say, she’s very photogenic. Ok, what how about the best gift you’ve ever received?
BB: A gold name necklace from my mum (inspired by Carrie’s from Sex and the City) – it was so beautiful and held so much sentimental value!

Equally heart-warming! Although we would have thought you would have preferred a necklace with your own name on it. Ha ha… Moving on. If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
BB:
To talk to animals! I would love to know what they were thinking and then I could help them out if they needed it!

We’ll call you Dr Dolittle from now on 😉 And finally, if you were stranded on a desert island and had to take one Cuckooland employee with you, who would it be and why
BB:
James, because he is such a positive, happy person – he would be great company and keep moral high, instead of moping that we were stranded!

Aww, that’s true, James is a ray of sunshine. Well, Beth’s made us feel all fuzzy inside… wonder if our next up Cuckoolander, Damian, will do the same?

DAMIAN POPIOL, Graphic Designer

Hi Damian! First, can you tell us – what is your favourite Cuckooland product?
DP:
The Vox furniture range – because they are Polish and awesome, like me!

Enough said – you are both awesome. What about the best gift you’ve ever received?
DP:
Photoshop 5.0. My parents bought it for me when I was 15.

They obviously saw your creative potential! Ok, how about the worst gift you’ve ever received?
DP:
Every gift is a good gift!

Ok, yes, you are of course right, and have successfully made us feel guilty for being ungrateful! Do you have any strange talents?
DP:
Napping! I can fall asleep anywhere, despite drinking a zillion cups of coffee a day.

You are often found snoozing in a corner at lunch! And finally, if you were a fruit or vegetable, what would you be and why?
DP:
I would love to be a pork steak or chicken breast 😛

And it was all going so well… Ok, thanks Damian – we’re moving onto April now, so we’ll have to schedule a chat about your 5-a-day for another time.

APRIL FOOT, PR & Marketing

Hello April! What is your favourite Cuckooland product and why?
AF:
It has to be the Snuggle Dog Bed by Charley Chau – the way their little noses poke out is just too cute!

We can’t imagine anyone would disagree with that. Ok, and if you could have any superpower, what would it be?
AF:
Teleportation, because I love to travel, but never have enough time. How great would it be to just pop to Bali after work?

Pretty great – hang in there, we heard a teleportation machine is high on the Cuckooland buying team’s list of potential new products. What about if you were a fruit or vegetable – what would you be?
AF:
Probably a banana. They’re tall and yellow, with some bad bits, but a mushy centre.

Nice! And if this banana was stranded on a desert island, which other Cuckoolander would you take with you and why?
AF:
Rachel – she made 500 vodka jelly shots for her friends for Glastonbury last year, so I know she’d be well prepared. We could turn it into a party island!

The Pirates of the Caribbean scene where Jack Sparrow is stranded on an island with a supply of rum springs to mind…

And there we have it. So, today, we’ve learnt that Beth wants to talk to dogs, both April and Beth are suckers for cute dogs, and, in stark contrast, Damian wishes he was pork pie. Tune in next time for more essential information you need to know about the Cuckooland team!
